ARTISTSCHAIR.COM TO COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL
ONLINE DIRECTORY TO REACH BROADER RANGE OF ARTISTS
artistschair.com forms relationship with iSmudge.com to help promote visual artists CLEVELAND (April 29, 2005) – Artistschair.com Founder and President Jeon Francis is proud to announce the first of many collaborations that artistschair.com, the online artists directory launched earlier this month, will pursue. Artistschair.com, which officially became active on April 15, is collaborating with iSmudge.com, a locally based online directory focused on featuring and allowing visual artists to promote and sell their work directly to the public. iSmudge.com currently offers 19 different talent fields exclusively focused on the visual arts and serves a membership base of 919 visual artists, ranging in location from all over the United States to the UK and Japan. SInce the announcement last month of the launch of artistschair.com, more than four dozen inquiries from visual artists wishing to promote their talent and services in the directory have been received, which during the first phase will offer only talent fields primarily focused on entertainers and technicians. "The research collected during the development of artistschair.com indicated to us that the visual arts community was a sizable group in its own right," says Francis. In order to introduce a directory that would be a superior resource for our members and users, we decided to postpone the inclusion of talent fields relating to the visual arts until Phase Three of artistschair.com. But our working relationship with iSmudge.com will most likely cause Phase Three of artistschair.com to evolve differently. With our two directories [artistschair.com and iSmudge.com] operating collaboratively, we can offer a broader range of services and knowledge to local artists and the general public," says Francis. iSmudge.com Founder and President Todd Volkmer agrees "I think it is very important and beneficial for groups like iSmudge.com and artistschair.com to work together to better serve artists and the arts community as a whole." Artists and users of either service will have the opportunity to learn more about artistschair.com or iSmudge.com by clicking on the logo, which will be included on each site and double as a link to the other directory. Artists will also be referred by each service to the other. At the moment, membership enrollment and listing talent and services in the directory of artistschair.com are completely free for artists as well as for users who may search the directory for talent. iSmudge.com currently offers a three-tier membership structure to artists interested in promoting and selling their work online; however, there is no charge to sign up for a Basic Membership.
